In the current 1.0 fishing table, Golden Fish is caught only at Deep Forest pond. The pond is the Secluded forest freshwater pool, has a 0% trash rate, and contains one fishing spot.
Golden Fish is available in any month, any weather, and at any time. It requires the Old Fishing Rod, is listed as Tier 4, and sells for 1,000 G.

How the catch roll works
The research does not give a fixed percentage. The pond first checks trash, then filters by rod, unlock, month, weather, and time, then rolls a Tier using the pond weights and picks evenly from fish in that Tier.
Why old locations differ
Early Access players reported Golden Fish at a pond near the creepy statue and at the port. The current data table narrows the location to Deep Forest pond. Those older reports are treated as possibly outdated, not as additional current spots.
The 1.00.02 patch adjusted fish appearance rates. The current Deep Forest pond answer matched the August 2026 fishing table, but rates may change again after later patches.
