The main wire puzzle in the research is the Environmental Modifier circuit repair. Early Access community sources agree that it needs two placeable Small Batteries and five Electric Wires.
No current 1.0 source repeats the full material or wire sequence. The 1.00.02 update added Environmental Modifier parts, so the old procedure may no longer match the current quest.

- Two Small Batteries: these are the placeable small-battery items, not the regular Battery.
- Five Electric Wires.
- Small Battery was locked behind the Tech Tree for the players who reported the quest.
Recorded location
A Steam discussion placed the device in the Town area toward Ridge Valley. From the farm, go down, then left, then up. It was inside a cave that once had a landslide, with a small pond and trampoline in front. Story progress could clear the entrance.
Why the in-game guide confuses players
Players reported that Mody left a guide under Encyclopedia > Archives, but its instructions did not match the quest. Community posts describe this difference as an intentional twist rather than a bug that prevented the quest.
Current version status
The detailed location and materials come from posts from around 2025. The 1.00.02 notes on August 6, 2026 say new Environmental Modifier parts were added and energy gain was improved. Check the current in-game quest text before collecting the old list of items.
